Please send your submissions to the Dan poets email, where they will be reviewed by the publican at The Apocalypse Bar. Alternatively, you could contact us through our Facebook Group. Oh, messaging this guy might get you somewhere as well. If you have problems sending larger files through (ie, video/audio), just contact us via email/Facebook and we should be able to arrange an alternative way for you to send the file through.
The Dan O'Connell Poets have always had a thriving open mic, and the MCs are not inclined to be too picky about what poems you share with us, but please be aware that we may not accept all poems if they are too outrageously offensive, racist, sexist, or for any other reason that occurs to our cantankerous little MC hearts.
While we aim to keep the beauty of spoken word poetry alive - ie, send in all your videos and audio files - you should certainly feel free to write poems for the medium as well. Blogs are perfect for poetry in its written form, including forms such as visual poetry, concrete poetry... and so much more!
While the Dan poets met every Saturday, our aim is to update this blog throughout the week, as we feel like it, so keep the submissions coming in. And though the five minute open mic limit clearly no longer applies, do try to keep things brief. If you send in a whole suite of poems, we may consider splitting them up; and a blog probably still isn't the right place to publish your five hour, five hundred page verse epic.
