I measure up the timber 
When I get my piece of plank, 
Then I get the right size drill bit
To put in my drill bit shank - 
It might take a little drilling, 
And then might take some more, 
But you need to get it just right 
When it's your job to bore.

I was working on a slant well
But the drill rig wouldn't fit -
It's important in the borehole
To get the proper bit.

I like displacement boring, 
And auger boring too, 
Wash boring has its uses, 
And it could be right for you - 
All drilling is quite thrilling, 
But at the core of all, 
I feel continuous sampling
Is the greatest bore of all.
